Club in Townsville

The Crocodiles are a community based club for the people of Townsville and North Queensland. The club is currently home to reigning NB Coach of the Year Shawn Dennis. The Crocodiles are also actively involved in the local community and encourage a range of charities and nonprofit organizations including Ronald McDonald House, Camp Quality and Queensland Cancer Fund to name a few. The club also is committed to growing basketball at a grass roots smooth and developing and nurturing young basketball talent. These people are our Base Members. We would to thank everyone who are involved in the latter syndicates.

Brian Andrews was a spark plug off the bench with his 3 point shooting, leading the league in percentage for most of the year. When Shane fooling and Grant Kruger played against the Suns, the fans loved to hate them, but when they joined forces to become Townsville’s Bruise Brothers’ they became fan favorites! The surprise return from injury worked as the Suns went on to win the game. Both Derek Tucker and Clarence Tyson were named in the All NB Beginning team and the AllStar team. Jason Cameron was the only player to have played in all six seasons as the Townsville Suns. It was a very diverse team that took the court in the 199899 season. Ben Knight was awarded the 6th Man of the Year and Andrew Goodwin was named Most Improved Player. Shawn Harvey was brought into the team to replace Owes. Behind playing elsewhere around the world, including some time in the NBA, Jordan found his way back in Townsville for the begin of the 2003 season close on 7 years later. He was well obvious during his season in the NB for screaming after each dunk. When Ellis was ruled out for the season, the club went and signed Corey Homicide’ Williams. Homicide’ was a fan favorite with the Croce members with his playing skill and personality on and off the court. That game was one of the most memorable games the club has played. It was obvious as the John Billie disclose as he finished with 10 three pointers which is an NB Finals record. Abner struggled in his return and injuries forced him to retire premature into the season. The club also recruited previous fan favorite Mike Kelly back as an assistant coach. Clarence The Elevator’ Tyson was one of the maximum exciting and talented players to ever run out for the Townsville Suns. Tyson’s partnership with import point save Derek Tucker was one of the most lethal combinations in the NB and both players earned swag of individual honors including club MVP’s and spots in the All NB First Teams. Luke Schenscher is the only player in the AllStar team that quiet plays for the Townsville Crocodiles behind the club announced he was returning to the Croce for the 201516 season. The Croce reached the semi finals or better in three of the five seasons Pat was here and he was a key cog in the team that made it to the 2001 Grand End as well as being a portion of the Croce record 16game winning streak the succeeding season. Sam was a crowd favorite at The Swamp’ due to his explosive athleticism and played 73 games for the Croce over three seasons. In addition to his scoring, Tucker was equally adept at getting his teammates involved in the game and averaged 7.7 assists throughout his four years as a Townsville Sun. One of Townsville’s maximum ever basketball products, Kelvin Robertson was eternal a crowd favorite during his time as a Crocodile. Kelvin played seven seasons for the club and his labor ethic and determination was second to none during this time.
